Let social skills and emotions work for YOU (SoKoS-Study)

Project No. UVT BGW1709

Status:

ongoing

Aims:

Based on the findings of our research and current literature review, the main objectives of the Magdeburg working group's new study are to analyze social competencies and the relevance of certain skills and abilities for job satisfaction in the veterinary profession, and to explore the relationships between individual emotional experience and evaluation, on the one hand, and mental health and life satisfaction, on the other. Furthermore, the application and success of emotion regulation strategies will be investigated. As a secondary objective, a gender-specific analysis will be conducted, taking into account potential influencing factors, and the question of whether gender-specific prevention can be helpful and necessary in this professional group will be explored.

Activities/Methods:

The quantitative survey is conducted online and includes standardized occupational psychology procedures: Irritation Scales (IS): cognitive and emotional irritation, FLZ (Life Satisfaction Questionnaire), ISK (Social Competence Inventory) and SEE (Emotion Experience Scale).
