On the influence of self-esteem-threatening work stressors, social support, and self-compassion on mental health and turnover intention among career starters in nursing professions

Project No. UVT BGW1726

Status:

ongoing

Aims:

In a preceding project, nurses (career starters) were surveyed in their first and fifth month of employment regarding their stressors, their well-being/strain, and the onboarding concepts of their hospital. In this process, various onboarding concepts were identified that facilitate coping with key stressors during the first months of professional practice. The aim of the present project is to publish the moderating effects of different onboarding concepts on the stressor–strain/behaviour relationship during the first months of nurses’ professional careers (in a peer-reviewed journal). Within the project year, a corresponding article will be written and submitted.

Activities/Methods:

The article will be written, presented and discussed in colloquia, continuously revised and improved, and submitted to a peer-reviewed scientific journal. As part of the peer-review process, the article will be revised and, if necessary, additional analyses will be conducted.
