About the conference

AIRMON has a long tradition. It was first organized in Geilo (Norway) in 1993. In the meantime, six further symposia in Norway and Sweden marked milestones in the follow-up of the initial gathering.

In 2014 AIRMON left Scandinavia and went international and was held in Marseille (France). AIRMON has become a steady appointment for the newest research results and future trends in the characterization of exposure to chemical and biological agents at workplaces and in the environment. Most of the world’s leading authorities in the field participate.

Symposium Topics

  • Air sampling and air monitoring
  • Exposure assessment - strategies, peak exposures, multi-exposures
  • Risk based limit values - exposure assessment and measurement of substances with extremely low limit values
  • Exposure and epidemiology
  • Exposure modelling
  • Requirements for workplace air measurement: Worldwide harmonization of standards
  • Quality of measurements, uncertainties
  • Sampling and measurement of
    • Organic and inorganic gases
    • Aerosols and nano-aerosols
  • Mixed phases
  • Bioaerosols
  • Biological monitoring - biomarkers of exposure
  • Direct reading instruments
  • Test chambers for simulating atmospheres
