Chemical and biological hazards

In the framework of the measurement system for exposure assessment, the Chemical and Biological Hazards department provides its analytic capabilities to the German Social Accident Insurance Institutions for determining the degree of exposure to hazardous and biological substances. Every year, over 30,000 samples are analysed with validated and standardised measurement methods, most of which have originally been developed at IFA. IFA regularly participates in round-robin tests to guarantee quality. The Chemical and Biological Hazards department also organises and conducts its own national and international round-robin tests on hazardous substance measurement procedures for external and internal company measurement stations. And the department also supports the Social Accident Insurance Institutions in complex and difficult measurement projects on site in companies while providing consultation on questions of hazardous and biological substances as well as of cases of occupational disease.
