(04.09.2019) According to the DGUV's recent announcement based on a survey conducted by the German Employer's Liability Insurance Association and the Federal Accident Compensation Funds, the number of work and work-related road accidents in 2018 has scarcely changed compared to the previous year.

As of 15 June 2019, electric scooters have been approved for use on public roads. By using the electrically powered vehicles it is intended to make mobility more modern and environmentally friendly. However, several severe accidents have occured only within the first two weeks.
Effective 1 July, 2019, Dr Stefan Hussy will assume the position of Director General of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). He succeeds Professor Joachim Breuer, who has resigned from office.
