Employment Experience

Since 1990 head of competence center Allergology/Immunology at the Institute for Prevention and Occupational Medicine of the German Social Accident Insurance, Institute of the Ruhr-University Bochum (IPA) (Head: Prof. Dr. med. Th. Brüning).

The research main topics: "Occupational allergy/allergen structure analysis and cellular aspects of occupational allergy, asthma and rhinitis; Standardization and quantification of occupational allergens; Differentiation between irritative and allergic reactions (non-invasive methods)".

1987 – 1990 post-doctoral fellowship/research assistant at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology (Head: Prof. Dr. W. Opferkuch), working group: Defense mechanisms (Head: Prof. Dr. W. König) with the research topics: a) Effects of environmental chemicals on the cellular immune reactions and b) Effects of bacterial toxins on inflammatory cell populations.
