Glove occlusion increases skin susceptibility to irritants ("occlusion effect"). In a 10-day study of 68 healthy volunteers, the IPA examined whether applying protective creams after glove occlusion modifies the occlusion effect.

Face masks effectively reduce airborne disease transmission, but data on their physiological impact on children remain limited compared to adults. This study evaluates the physiological and thermal effects of surgical masks (SM) and filtering face piece mask (FFP2) on children during typical classroom sessions.

Assessment of dried plasma spots (DPS) as an appropriate sample matrix for the measurement of circulating calretinin

Microsampling using filter cards for dried blood spots and dried plasma spots is a well-established technique. The results demonstrated that calretinin, a biomarker for the early detection of mesothelioma, could be measured reliably, with good agreement to convential plasma.
