BK 5101 Starter Kit: Development of scientific based detailed performance specification for a starter kit portfolio for the care of insured persons within the SIP program (secondary individual prevention) by BGW (KIT I)

Project No. UVT BGW1690

Status:

ongoing

Aims:

Development of a scientific based detailed performance specification for the reintroduction of the product supply of insured persons in secondary individual prevention (SIP) with skin protection packages (occupational skin products, hand disinfectants and gloves) by the BGW (starter kit portfolio). For the future, it is planned to conduct scientific evaluations of applicant products based on the developed performance specifications, to continuously update the performance specification in accordance with new scientific findings and the demands of work environments, and to review them periodically (sub-study two). Furthermore, the practical implementation of providing insured individuals with starter kits in the institutions of the BGW is to be evaluated (sub-study three).

Activities/Methods:

Development of a scientific based performance specification for the provision of insured persons in the SIP (e.g., skin protection programs in special training centres). Performance specification should detail the requirements for the products that are to be included in the portfolio (functional/technical requirement criteria). The following product groups have to be covered: (1) protective creams / barrier creams, (2) emollients / moisturizers, (3) skin cleansers, (4) hand disinfectants, (5) gloves for the various sectors (e.g., medical, hairdressing) for the BGW. Furthermore, a publishable manuscript shall be prepared for the performance specification.
