Evaluation of an electronic instruction system

Aims:

The purpose of this evaluation study was to examine the effectiveness of computer-aided instruction compared to conventional instruction methods. As a result the company receives data to make decisions about the realisation of future instruction in OH&S.

Activities/Methods:

The computer-aided instruction was implemented in the cooperating company. The evaluation was realised by a before & after/control-group design. Six months after implementing the computer-aided instruction, the acceptance, the benefit, the increase in OH&S knowledge, and changes in OH&S relevant behaviour were measured. The study gives information about the suitability and effectiveness of computer-aided instruction for employees in this branch specific company.

Results:

The investigation of computer-aided instruction allows the Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention to formulate recommendations for the use of such systems in company.
