2nd University Conference: Safe and healthy University
Date: September 19-21, 2011
The university is a place of teaching and learning, researching and experimenting. People with very different tasks and
areas of expertise work under the same roof: professors, students, research assistants, administrative and technical
staff. The 2nd university conference in Dresden wants to contribute to a condition where all the people named above can
carry out their various tasks without hazards and where safety and health are recognised as a quality feature of a
university.

2nd Strategy Conference: Five Pillars - Strategies on Safety and Health at Work
Date: February 3-4, 2011
A key outcome of the 1st Strategy Conference in January 2009 was the call for better coordination between international
and national strategies on safety and health at work. The 2nd Strategy Conference will offer international experts and
high-level policymakers the opportunity to explore how the various international strategies can be better linked with
one another and how implementation at the national level can be better coordinated. The common goal of the conference
organisers is to promote a worldwide prevention culture.

Globalisation and Training in occupational Safety and Health

Globalisation – a "meaningless buzzword" (Claus Leggewie) or signature-term of a new age? This was the question
asked at the start of the workshop “Globalisation and training in occupational safety and health”. Experts
from inside and outside the accident insurance institutions discussed the significance of globalisation for
occupational safety and health and resulting requirements for health and safety training in a total of four thematic
forums.

Colloquium of the ISSA International Section for Research on Prevention

This conference focuses on the research to optimize the process for the transfer of classical risk oriented research
into service oriented prevention provided to support the companies. According to current knowledge OSH research must be
supplemented by the aspect of process-analysis and process-optimization of all prevention services. First results of
this extended research approach will be presented.

Building a bridge between international and national strategies in health and safety at work
Date: January 28-30, 2009
This conference was a platform for experts and policy makers to exchange information about updated global, European,
and national occupational health and safety strategies. It was hosted by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) in
co-operation with the WHO, ILO, ISSA, OSHA, ICOH and IALI.

VI International Conference on Challenges and Innovations of Personal Protective Equipment
Date: October 20-21, 2008
People working in industrial environments, such as building sites for example, must be able to rely completely on their
occupational health and safety equipment. Innovative, global developments in the field of personal protective equipment
(PPE) were the subject of an international conference held in Dresden from 20 - 21 October 2008. Taking part were 120
businesses, manufacturers, users and OSH-experts from various different European countries.
