Road safety

Not all drivers’ licences in Germany are valid indefinitely...
Drivers who have a particular responsibility in road traffic are required by ordinance to prove before they receive
their driver’s licence – and then at prescribed intervals – that they are fit to cope with the stress
of their work. The Ordinance on Drivers’ Licences (“Fahrerlaubnisverordnung”) stipulates this
requirement for drivers of heavy goods vehicles, buses/coaches, taxis and passenger-transport vehicles. But it’s
also possible to help elderly drivers retain their mobility by carrying out special tests as part of advisory
services.
If you are
- involved in driver-suitability appraisals or
- seeking to act as an advisor on driving suitability,
you can prepare yourself for these duties in special seminars offered by experts in this facility.
