Communication workshop

“From person to person” – sounds simple...
In occupational safety and health and in consulting, dialogue plays a central role. In addition to consultants’
professional qualifications, their ability to communicate is crucial when, for example, attempting to motivate
employees to behave in a safety-conscious manner. But only people who are aware of how the spoken word works in
combination with body language and group dynamics can inspire others. And they can only detect subtle signs if they
know exactly what to look out for. That’s true of talks with clients, discussions with employees and
meetings.
Facility resources
In a similar set-up to the group observation rooms in the clinical context, the room can be viewed from the room
next door through a window (a two-way window in this case, however). Four dome cameras, controlled remotely from the
control room, record what happens in the communication workshop. Several microphones ensure optimum intelligibility of
the sound recording. There are 12 places in the workshop, which measures approximately 40 m².
The recorded material can be edited in line with the seminar requirements and the participants’ needs at a
video-editing station in the neighbouring room. It can then be played back to the seminar group straight away.
