Research at the IAG
For work to be organized such that it remains healthy for employees in the long term, the relationships between exposure and stress, the criteria for worker performance and health must be understood. This is the objective of OSH research. In addition, it assists in the selection of particularly effective preventive measures for companies.
IAG research is focused upon human beings at work. For example, we examine what working conditions are suitable for older employees or for those with impaired performance. We measure mental stress at the workplace and develop measures to overcome it. We evaluate prevention measures, in order to demonstrate and improve their efficacy.
Our topics
We methodically conduct research into:
- The ergonomic assessment and design of workplaces for older employees and employees with impaired performance
- Individual hazard factors at the workplace, such as lighting or vibration
- Mental stress and strain, for example emergency psychology
- Issues of work organization, such as night and shift work
- Demographic change
- Safety-oriented information, perception and behaviour
- The evaluation of prevention measures
- The development of prevention targets
- New approaches to adult education
- Traffic safety in the context of commuting and business journeys
We have compiled a selection of our current research projects for you.
