Controlling of Legionellae in hotwater-systems needs a simple, unexpensive and rapid test. A possibly suitable method for qualitative and quantitative analysis of legionellae in water has to be evaluated and standardized.
Fluorescence in situ hybridization, using a special filtration, incubation and staining reactor (already developped by the research institute), avoids loss of cells (quantitative falsification); comparing results with culture method and immunoassay.
The FISH-method is generally suitable, but accuracy does not fit.
