Global prevention balance sheet: Determination of the international return on prevention

Aims:

Between 2006 and 2008, Prof. Dr. Dietmar Bräunig of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen headed a research project on the subject of the prevention balance sheet from a theoretical and empirical perspective. In conjunction with the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the Institute of Work and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IAG), the study is to be extended to the international level. The objective is the creation of a global prevention balance sheet and calculation of the international return on prevention.

Activities/Methods:

• Institute of Work and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IAG) together with Prof. Dr. Dietmar Bräunig: scientific supervision; organization of the training measures; statistical evaluation of the results; production of the project report; presentation of the results
• External scientific supervisor (Prof. Dr. Dietmar Bräunig): co-ordination tasks in project execution: production of the questionnaire form and interview guide; technical and methodological support (of the operative performance of the project by the BG ETEM); participation in training (together with the IAG); statistical evaluation of the results (together with the IAG); production of the project report (together with the BG ETEM and the IAG); presentation of the results (together with the other parties to the project)
• German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the energy textile electrical and media products sectors (BG ETEM): (operative) execution of the project.
