IFA test of abrasive agents

Tests and certification is conducted on the basis of the "Prüf- und Zertifizierungsordnung der Prüf- und Zertifizierungsstellen im DGUV Test" ["Rules of Procedure for Testing and Certification carried out by the Testing and Certification Bodies in DGUV Test", DGUV Grundsatz 300-004, formerly BGG/GUV-G 902 E], available as a brochure from the DGUV Publication Database.

The order form (PDF, 217 kB) for ordering a testing and/or certification from IFA, as well as the standard contract (PDF, 430 kB) between customers and IFA, are available for download.

You can fill out the forms online by using the tabulator key to move from one data entry field to the next, and then print out the completed form when finished. If you would also like to save a copy of the forms, you need to have Acrobat Writer (Acrobat Reader software alone will not work to do this). Save the desired forms on your computer first and fill them out afterwards.

Please send the order as a single copy along with two copies of the appropriate contract forms - be sure to provide your signature where needed - to Institut für Arbeitsschutz der Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung (IFA), Alte Heerstr. 111, 53757 Sankt Augustin, Germany.

In the order form, you can select between a complete test (a test certificate will be printed) and a partial test (select the components to be tested; no certificate printed). The test requires at least 0.5 kg of the abrasive agent out of current production. Once all the formalities are complete, the testing will begin. This takes at least four to six weeks.

The test certificate is valid for three years. It can be extended for a period of three more years upon request. To extend the validity, a simple letter (no forms needed) confirming that the composition and the production process have not changed since the last test is enough for obtaining the extension. Otherwise, a sample of the abrasive agent from current production must also be sent along as a backup sample. After this extension period, receiving a new test certificate requires a renewed test of the abrasive agent.

The abrasive agent test costs EUR 1663.15 excl. VAT; extending the validity period currently costs EUR 114.70 excluding VAT. The most recent fees schedule is effective. The costs for the partial test are available upon request.
