A delegation from Myanmar visited the IAG in the context of the Vision Zero Fund.
Myanmar is the pioneer country to receive support by the Vision Zero Fund, a global prevention fund set up during Germany's G7 Presidency. Its goal is to boost safe and good work worldwide.
"Fair work in Myanmar and along global supply chains" – this is the message of the tripartite high-level delegation from Myanmar that visited the IAG in February 2017. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the DGUV headquarter and the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS).
The discussion focused on management strategies to increase awareness for workplace safety and on training philosophies with a practical dimension. A round tour through the DGUV Academy with several practical facilities and seminar rooms provided broad insight into the mission and vision of the IAG.
The meeting proofed very similar views of Germany and Myanmar on the return on prevention and the importance of social dialogue. The participants of the meeting advocated a possible cooperation in tailored training of labour inspectors and OSH experts from Myanmar at IAG.
We are very proud of the visit from Myanmar as the first pilot country under the Vision Zero Fund and hope to work effectively together in the future.
