The European Commission has published the second set of guidelines to the new machinery directive
Experience in recent years has shown the importance for buyers of work equipment to purchase products that have been certified by an independent body. A new tool for transportantion industry has been developed.
Starting 1 July, BG-PRÜFZERT will take on a new corporate identity that makes its membership in the employers' statutory insurance and accident prevention funds, and German social accident insurance funds more apparent. Its certificates and publications will be given a new, more modern look.
When using woodworking machinery that has passed dust emissions testing, the operator no longer needs to regularly measure emis-sions. The Expert Committee for the Woodworking Industry has updated the principles for testing and certification of such machinery.
As a new service, DGUV Test now offers a useful tool to help purchasers in the meat industry make their selections: it lists all products that have received a certificate from the Expert Committee for the Meat-Processing Industry. From appliances used in butchers' shops to slaughterhouse equipment, it's now much easier to select the right products for meat and sausage processing.
Manufacturers have to issue an EC Declaration of Conformity for each machine. In a new information sheet, BG-PRÜFZERT informs manufacturers and buyers of machinery what content the declarations are required to have.
A manufacturer of vehicle servicing lifts and a manufacturer of earth-moving equipment have received the first certificates from BG-PRÜFZERT for full quality assurance systems pursuant to the new Machinery Directive.
Lashing nets are a quick solution for load restraint. Now for the first time, such nets have passed GS testing and can be labelled with the GS mark ("Geprüfte Sicherheit" = "Tested Safety") from BG-PRÜFZERT. The GS mark gives purchasers a direct indication that the nets meet demanding safety requirements.
