FRAMES - Early Warning System to adaptively recognize people-vehicle collision dangers for safety improvements

Project No. FF-FP 0336

Status:

completed 03/2014

Aims:

  • Gaining of behavioral and accident related data to program an early warning system based on transponder technology.
  • Testing of the usability of the technical system and to prepare it for a reliable and affordable future usage.
  • Determine of the degree and developing possible countermeasures due to perceived security with the system risk compensation is to be expected.

Activities/Methods:

  • Literature analyses
  • Video analysis within risk assessment techniques
  • Development of new behavioural observation and risk assessment methods
  • Evaluation of preparation of behavioural patterns for technical usage
  • Technical developments are needed to make the transponder system usable and to prove its usability as a preventive tool in quasi experimental settings.
