Dossier on tetrachloroethene (PCE)

Aims:

The scientific and practical information on PCE (tetrachloroethene, perchloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene) is comprehensive, but scattered. The PCE dossier presents this information in a compact form suitable for both scientists, and the affected enterprises. It contains a compilation of epidemiological study results, substance information on PCE, the current classification of PCE in Germany, implications for enterprises, assistance in exposure estimates for the use of PCE in textile cleaning and the metals industry, and guidelines.

Activities/Methods:

The dossier was produced with the co-operation of the BGs responsible for the metal and textiles/clothing sectors. The BGs provided guidelines which have already proved within their member companies.

Results:

The dossier on tetrachloroethene is available on the Internet as a BIA Report, and can be used by any interested party.
