The aim of this work is the analysis of blood and urine samples of shift working nurses. The obtained profiles of metabolomics and hormone will be used to identify biomarkers effecting the health of nurses. To verify changes of biomarker samples metabolomics and hormone profiles of nurses without shift work will be gathered as comparison.
For the metabolite concentration profiles, the samples will be measured by using targeted metabolomics approach based on the AbsoluteDQTM p150 kit (BIOCRATES Life Science AG, Innsbruck, Austria), allowing simultaneous quantification of 163 metabolites using flow injection analysis (FIA) mass spectrometry (MS). To compare the detected metabolome and hormone profiles, statistical and bioinformatical methods will be used.
