Health and safety with questionnaire of Bielefeld - stress analysis - evaluation of measures - prevention

Project No. FF-FP 0398

Status:

ongoing

Aims:

Overall project objective: to provide a practical, validated and standardized method for universities and German social accident insurance institutions to evaluate the impact of working conditions on mental health (psychic stress risk assessment), to develop and implement needs-oriented measures, and to generate and publish empirical data on health relevant problems at universities and successful measures to overcome them. Individual project objectives:

  • Setup of a University database: Setup of a SPSS database with data generated by the universities:
    1. Generation and allocation of comparable data in addition to the survey results (external benchmarking), development of a benchmarking method, which provides, in addition to the survey results, standardized comparable data for the participating university institutions,
    2. Determination of the central stressors and health enhancing resources at universities by calculating and determining the coherence, determination of central stressors and health enhancing resources at universities,
    3. Revision of the evaluation scheme for a standardized evaluation of the results → Development of an empirical and statistically firm evaluation system for the evaluation and development of measures.
  • Documentation, testing and evaluation of needs-oriented measures and their systematic integration: Until the end of the project, examples of tested measures are stored in the procedure. These measures are specific to the needs of the respective target group.
  • Networking of actors from the participating university institutions to evaluate systematically practical experiences: integration of practical experiences into the process.
  • Development, testing and validation of a survey instrument for the group of students. An already tested and validated survey instrument for the group of students will be provided until the end of the project. With this instrument it is possible to register stressors and resources for students in a reliable way.

All above described objectives should be pursued in a differentiated way according to the different status groups (professors, research assistants, technical and administrative staff in academic institutions, technical and administrative staff in the central administration; student assistants, if applicable), as well as according to groups of people exposed to particular stressors, such as students or staff with disabilities, or students and staff with family duties.
