Z3: Co-operation and training

IFA co-operates with experts, partner institutes and other specialist bodies in the field of occupational safety and health. Projects conducted jointly with these parties assist in focusing OSH research efforts. Training and education is an important instrument here for expanding co-operation, particularly with the German Social Accident Insurance institutions. In order to present IFA's work to the broadest possible audience, the institute also seeks ongoing contact to print, radio and television media. The duties of Central Unit 3 include:

• Organising courses and seminars on the topics of noise, hazardous substances, biological agents, machine safety and vibration
• Hosting visitors, interns and trainees
• Representing the institute at exhibitions
• Media contacts
• Foreign language services
• Organisational preparation of and application of European projects (eg: the 7^th Framework EU research programme)
• Conducting of national and European projects on interdisciplinary issues (such as the risk observatory for the accident insurance institutions, projects for the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, etc.)
• Organising national and international special events (workshops, symposia, conferences) on current topics in occupational safety and health

Central Unit Z3 is part of IFA's Central Division.
