Tests of machinery and safety components
IFA test fields
IFA tests and certifies hand-operated industrial trucks, lifting platforms, continuous conveyors, and machines for lifting persons, all according to the machinery directive. The emphasis of the work related to the machinery directive is placed on safety components and various partial tests of machinery.
The safety components tested include:
- Guards
- Load lifting attachments
- Electro-sensitive protective devices
- Two-hand controls
- Interlocking devices and
- Safety components using electrical, programmable, and fluid-driven technology
Partial tests on machinery include tests of:
- Fluid-technical and electrical equipment and control systems of machines
- Noise
- Vibration (both hand-arm and total-body vibration)
- Hot surfaces
- Electromagnetic fields (immunity and emission)
- Hazardous substance emissions and
- Interference by operating conditions and from environment.
