Testing of sound level meters

The IFA is the calibration centre for the OSH sound level meters of the institutions for statutory accident insurance and prevention. For a sound level meter to obtain official calibration, it must have undergone a design test at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt or PTB (national metrology institute). The successfully tested and hence calibratable sound level meters and their manufacturers can be found in a list at the PTB (in German only).
