Full quality assurance

Full quality assurance provides manufacturers of Annex IV machinery with an additional method for assessing conformity.
Annex X of EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC describes the new conformity-assessment procedure, in which, rather than assessing an individual product, the notified body assesses the manufacturer's quality assurance system for the design, manufacture, final inspection and testing of one or more machinery types in the categories listed in Annex IV.

The notified bodies have agreed on uniform procedures for assessing full quality assurance systems.

A working group of the European Coordination of the notified bodies specified in the Machinery Directive has drawn up recommendations for use concerning this new procedure, which have now been adopted by the European Coordination. DGUV Test has published the recommendations.
