Construction products as defined in Directive 89/106/EEC 
Construction products are materials, parts of construction works or installations “produced for incorporation in a permanent manner in construction works, including both buildings and civil engineering works”. 

Notified body: Expert Committee for the Construction Sector 
The Expert Committee for the Construction Sector is a notified body for the testing of “roof coverings, rooflights, roof windows and ancillary products”. 

Harmonised standards 

• DIN EN 516:2006: Prefabricated accessories for roofing - Installations for roof access - Walkways, treads and steps 
• DIN EN 517:2006: Prefabricated accessories for roofing - Roof safety hooks 
• DIN EN 12951: 2004 (Corrigenda 1: 2007): Prefabricated accessories for roofing - Permanently fixed roof ladders - Product specification and test methods 
  

New EU Construction Products Regulation 
24 April 2011 saw a new regulation, Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011, come into force, replacing the Construction Products Directive. The new requirements for manufacturers will have binding effect as of 
1 July 2013.
