Updated codes of rules for testing published

The BG-PRÜFZERT testing and certification bodies of the

• Expert Committee on Surface Treatment and Metal and the
• Expert Committee on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

have both published a revised code of rules for testing.

The code published by the testing and certification body of the PPE Expert Committee provides an overview of the rules for testing and certification in the field of personal protective equipment. The table below gives a simplified view of the range of services performed by the testing and certification body.

Codes of rules for testing of the Expert Committee on Surface Treatment and Metal

The testing and certification body of the Expert Committee on Surface Treatment and Metal published the amended version of the "GS-MO 15-05 Code of Rules for the Testing and Certification of Chains and Chain Components" ("Grundsätze für die Prüfung und Zertifizierung von Ketten und Ketteneinzelteilen") in June. This code of rules for testing is applied in the testing and certification of fine-tolerance hoist chains, round steel chains and chain components (e.g. individual links, connecting links, shortening clutches, tensioning elements, hooks, swivels), which belong to the product category of slings as specified in Annex I of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Since the amended GS-MO 15-05 code of rules now incorporates the testing rules set out in the GS-MO-15-06 code of rules for testing "Chains and Chain Components - Grade 10" ("Ketten- und Ketteneinzelteile - Güteklasse 10"), the GS-MO-15-06 code of rules was withdrawn when the amended version of the GS-MO 15-05 code of rules for testing was published.
