Quality in Prevention research project

The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) has carried out a research project entitled “Quality in Prevention” in order to investigate all the prevention services provided to businesses and organisations by its members (e.g. testing and certification). A number of indicators and measuring tools were developed to meet the project’s goals.

In sub-project 11, the testing and certification activities have been analyzed. The study shows that the social accident insurance institutions’ testing and certification bodies are able to influence the way in which equipment and materials are manufactured, through their day-to-day work and by disseminating any discoveries made during the testing and certification process. The certification sub-project studied these impact chains and the quality of the service.
