How to use the "Fields of testing" database

There are two ways in which you can search for the fields of testing covered by the testing and certification bodies:

• by choosing keywords from the list or
• by entering your own search text.

It is also possible to combine both options.

1. Choosing keywords from the list
   

   To simplify your search, we have sorted the areas covered by our testing and certification bodies based on the following levels:

   • • the top level ("generic term") provides a list of the fields in which DGUV Test tests and certifies, e.g. electrical equipment, appliances burning gaseous fuels, protective equipment, machinery, testing of specific aspects, etc.;
     • the second level can be used to narrow down your search. In particular, specific sectors can be selected (e.g. office work, chemical industry, wood industry, etc.); and
     • the third level enables you to narrow down your search still further (e.g. by type of machine, etc.

   Select a term from the list and click on "Go". The next level will then be displayed.

   To start the search, click on the "Start search" button.

2. Free text search
   

   Enter the name of a product or a similar term. You can also just type the beginning of the word, the database will then look for any term that begins with the same letters. The words are stored in the plural form.

   To start the search, click on the "Start search" button.

3. Combined list-based and free text search
   The two search methods can also be used in combination. For example, if you choose the word "Maschinen" from the list of generic terms and enter "Kreis" in the free text field, the results displayed will only include words that begin with "Kreis" and are categorised as machinery.

Too many hits?

Our database may well find a large number of results. If this happens, the following message will appear: "More than 200 results were found. Please specify your query".
