Prevention activities

The tasks of the accident insurance institutions within the industrial and public sectors include consultation and inspection, initial and further training, and public information.

In 2010, the technical inspectorates visited 277,000 companies; in about 870,000 cases, cause was found for complaint. More than 370,000 persons (excluding the pupil accident insurance) attended initial and further training relating to safety and health at work. Over 497,000 safety officers, almost 100,000 OSH professionals and 1.2 mio. trained first-aiders can be found in companies and institutions.
